Jonathan Igharas is a Filipino-American designer currently based in Vancouver, Canada. His transient nature and passion for world travel has allowed him to study, research and live both in Southeast Asia and Western Europe. Having developed a hybrid interest in the opportunities that exist in between the worlds of the 'developing' and the 'developed', he is constantly inspired by his experiences, which greatly inform and shape his creative multidisciplinary practice.

Jonathan continually strives to learn how to become part of, as well as to help create catalysts for social and ecological change. The cultural force and change he sees himself co-creating and becoming part of serves to protect cultural diversity by employing art, design, music and multimedia as tools for empowerment and modes for communication and expression.

Inspired by contrasting visual textures, light in motion, sculpting audio, shadows in empty space, expansive landscapes, the ephemeral, and deep ocean creatures, Igharas' curiosity for the built-up environment and the artifacts contained within them, inspires him to re-create, re-mix, re-interpret, re-envision, and explore new forms for altering how we perceive and experience our everyday (in)tangible environments.
